Sonya

A native Californian, Sonya has over 30 years experience as an Occupational Therapist, working in psychiatry and geriatrics since graduating from San Jose State University. Over half of this time was spent in program development, as Rehab Director(s) and in other leadership roles while continually working with clientele.
She began her career, working in psychiatry at the Menlo Park V.A. While there, she was honored to work with Viet Nam vets, doing group therapy, community reentry, and establishing a Choral Group which performed nationwide.
Another keystone in her career was working for a contract company which supplied therapists for nursing homes between the San Jose, California area and Sacramento. At any given time she was responsible for the rehab department of up to 13 facilities, giving in-services, counseling, auditing performance, filling in as a therapist when the need arose and acting as liaison between the rehab department and the facility administrator.
As well as being an Occupational Therapist, she has owned a travel agency with emphasis on special needs travel for physically challenged individuals. A dual role with knowledge of both the travel industry and rehab needed to ensure safe travel for our clientele.
With this variety of expertise, she now comes to the arena with seminars for professionals and lay people alike.
Personal interests include music, crafts, travel and 10 grandchildren. Best of all, she enjoys sharing with others and helping them to meet the challenges they encounter in their personal and professional lives.
